17th Chief Executive Member of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council
Born on August 6, 1972, Dr. Ronghang has dedicated his career to the progress and upliftment of the Karbi Anglong district. His journey from an elected Member of the Autonomous Council (MAC) to the helm of the KAAC since October 17, 2013, is a testament to his unwavering commitment to his people. A prominent member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), he has consistently championed holistic governance with focus on infrastructure, education, healthcare, and socio-economic welfare.
Oversaw critical projects like the black-topping of Tumpreng to Taradubi PWD road (Rs. 874.897 lakh). Committed to connecting remote areas with roads and bridges, including RCC bridge over Amreng River.
Advocated for Ayushman Card providing health coverage up to Rs. 5 lakh. During COVID-19, personally funded relief efforts exceeding Rs. 2 crore for migrant workers.
Championed millet cultivation aligning with PM Modi's International Year of Millet initiative. Committed to providing seeds to farmers to promote traditional Karbi jhum cultivation.
Distributed 1,26,000 NFSA ration cards across Karbi Anglong. Supported BPL families through Arunodoi and PMAY schemes for financial assistance and housing.
